Hello Rogers High School staff, students and parents,
I find it an honor and a privilege to serve you as the principal of Rogers High School.
As an educator for the past 15 years I have devoted my life to serving students, staff, parents and community members with the goal of insuring that all students have a safe, positive, and successful learning experience. It is my firm belief that in order to help our students reach their maximum potential we must have a strong partnership between our staff, parents and community members with high student achievement as our common goal.
Education has shifted from teaching students "what" to learn to teaching them "how" to learn. We must focus on communication, innovation, technology and creativity in order to help our students become globally competitive. Educator Karl Fisch sums up the challenge: "We are currently preparing students for jobs that don't yet exist, using technologies that haven't been invented yet, in order to solve problems we don't even know are problems yet." I am confident that, in partnership with our parents and community, the staff of Rogers High School will successfully meet this challenge as we work together every day to provide an excellent education for all students.
This year will be my sixth year to serve at Rogers High School. Before that, I served as the middle school principal here in Rogers. I started my career in Bartlett where I taught English Language Arts and was a coach. I coached for five years, two of which I served as the athletic director in Bartlett. My wife, Beth, and I have two wonderful children, Jo Lee(10) and Luke Edward(7).
If I can assist you in any way please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me.
I look forward to meeting each of you as we continue the rich traditions of Rogers ISD and work together to make Rogers High School the best school in Texas!
